Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
The Indo-American Journal of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences (IAJAVS), published by Unicorn Publishers, holds itself to high standards of publication ethics, based on the principles and guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Published research shapes what farmers grow, how animals are treated and which products are used, so getting this right is not a formality for us.
Duties of Authors
- Submit only original work, free of plagiarism, fabricated or falsified data, and duplicate submission
- Report research accurately, with enough methodological detail for others to reproduce it
- List everyone who meets the ICMJE authorship criteria, and make sure every author has approved the final manuscript
- Disclose all funding and any conflicts of interest
- Tell the journal promptly about any significant error found in published work, and cooperate with corrections or retractions
- Document animal ethics approval and, where relevant, informed consent from owners or participants
Duties of Editors
- Judge manuscripts on scientific merit alone, without regard to authors' race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, nationality or political beliefs
- Keep submitted manuscripts confidential and never use unpublished material in their own research without the authors' written consent
- Step aside from any manuscript where they have a conflict of interest
- Ensure that double-blind peer review is fair, rigorous and timely
Duties of Reviewers
- Assess manuscripts objectively and give constructive, well-supported feedback
- Keep manuscripts confidential and never use what they learn for personal advantage
- Declare conflicts of interest and decline where one exists
Handling Misconduct
Allegations of research or publication misconduct, including plagiarism, fabrication or falsification, duplicate publication and undisclosed conflicts of interest, are investigated according to COPE guidelines. Depending on the outcome, IAJAVS may ask for corrections, publish an erratum or corrigendum, or retract the article. See Misconduct and Sanctions.
Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions at IAJAVS rest only on scientific merit, originality and relevance to the journal's scope. They are independent of any commercial, financial or sponsorship consideration, including Article Processing Charges and waiver status.
